Our clinical services for families include:
Dual Treatment
Dual treatment is recommended for children with severe autism. “Dual” refers to both the parent and the QST therapist giving the child the massage–the parent at home daily and the therapist at scheduled times. Parents learn to deliver the massage and do so daily for 15 minutes (see Parent Training). The therapist sees the child once or twice a week and provides the therapist version of the massage, which supplements and reinforces the parent version. Learn more about Dual Treatment.
Parent Coaching
Parents who have learned to deliver the massage may seek coaching to strengthen their technique or work through challenges they encounter when treating their child at home. Learn more about Parent Coaching.
Parent Consultation
Parents considering beginning QST who have questions about starting are encouraged to schedule a Parent Consultation. Parents are encouraged to first review the wealth of material on QST available on the Institute’s website, as it’s likely that many of your questions will be answered by their materials.
